The Skidaway Hamiltons are pleased to host a Zoom presentation by Lindsey Grovenstein, Community Engagement Specialist, Inspiritus Savannah, on their current work with Afghan refugees (actually, humanitarian parolees, as she will explain). How did the refugees arrive here? How many are there? What did Inspiritus have to do to prepare, after refugee programs were decimated during the prior administration? What services are being provided? What is the role of volunteers?
Ms. Grovenstein will talk about the challenges the refugees face as they move from barely surviving to trying to achieve self-sufficiency and integration into their new community and country.
