Whether our schools re-open or not in the Fall is a subject of enormous consequence right now. So many children are falling behind trying to adapt not only to remote teaching but to the turmoil in their parent’s lives. Unfortunately, our educational system was failing a large portion of our most disadvantaged students before the pandemic struck. For our next discussion, please read the following articles that appeared in the New York Times (Sunday Review) from May 17, 2020.

1.The Cities We Need - Editorial Board

2. Without Fixing Inequality the Schools Are Always Going to Struggle - Lora Kelley

3. The Utter Unfairness of Educational Geography - Rebecca Sibilia

4. I’m Sick of Asking Children to be Resilient - Mona Hanna-Attisha

You can access these articles from your search engines by inputting:

If you actually have the paper saved from that date you may find the articles have different titles but just check the authors’s names.
